In a recent survey conducted by Revenue Management Solutions, fast-food enthusiasts across the United States have spoken out about their favorite chicken offerings from quick-service restaurants (QSRs). This comprehensive study provides insights into the preferred brands for chicken sandwiches, nuggets, and bone-in chicken.
The survey, which enlisted the participation of over 3,000 respondents, has unveiled Chick-fil-A as the frontrunner in the realm of chicken sandwiches and nuggets, while KFC reigns supreme when it comes to bone-in chicken.
Chicken Sandwich Ranking
When it comes to chicken sandwiches, Chick-fil-A emerged as the top choice for 25% of participants, securing its place as the frontrunner. In second place is Popeyes, capturing the taste buds of 20% of respondents, while KFC clinches the third spot with a respectable 12% approval rating.
Chicken Nuggets Domination
For chicken nuggets aficionados, Chick-fil-A and Popeyes once again dominate the rankings, with a commanding 28% and 23% of respondents respectively favoring these establishments. Surprisingly, McDonald’s claims the third spot in this category, securing the preference of 18% of participants.
Bone-In Chicken Preference
KFC emerges as the indisputable leader in the domain of bone-in chicken, with a resounding 36% of respondents endorsing it as their top choice. Popeyes and El Pollo Loco follow closely in second and third place with 26% and 17% of the vote, respectively.
Consumer Decision-Making
The survey delves into the decision-making process of consumers when choosing their preferred chicken options. Notably, 43% of participants indicated that they dine at QSRs one to two times per week, with their choices primarily influenced by price and product quality.
For chicken sandwiches, a majority of 3 in 5 respondents base their decision primarily on the product’s quality rather than its price. Similarly, for bone-in chicken, half of the respondents prioritize the product itself. However, when it comes to chicken nuggets, price plays a pivotal role in decision-making.
The survey’s findings also revealed that participants exhibit limited price sensitivity toward the leading two brands across all three product categories. Nevertheless, a 20% price increase could potentially prompt consumers to consider alternative options.
In summary, the survey by Revenue Management Solutions has highlighted the dominant players in the fast-food chicken market and shed light on the factors influencing consumer choices in this highly competitive industry. Chick-fil-A and KFC have emerged as formidable contenders, with the battle for the hearts and appetites of chicken lovers continuing to heat up.
